Booking / Admission

Whilst you are on-site at Melbourne Animal Farm you are agreeing to follow our social distancing measures.

When entering the site, you will not be displaying any signs, or have any knowledge that you may have coronavirus. If you have booked a ticket in advance and begin to show symptoms of coronavirus you must contact melbourneanimalfarmbookings@gmail.com to arrange for your tickets to be transferred to another date.

Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be passed on to a third party.

The re-schedule of appointments can only be made in extreme cases and at the discretion of the management team.

On entry to the farm you will be expected to have your tickets ready to present to a member of the team, please give details of the name that the booking was made under.

Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before your allocated time as parking may be restricted.

We are only allowing payments to be made through our booking system at present, although this may change as the coronavirus guidelines relax.

Any change of bookings will incur a charge of £1.50 for administrative / booking fees. This must be carried out by contacting melbourneanimalfarmbookings@gmail.com.

In the event of another coronavirus lockdown, we will be able to offer a full transfer of your booking to a future date once guidelines have been confirmed.

If we as Melbourne Animal Farm have to cancel your booking due to circumstances being beyond our control, we will offer you, the payee a chance to move your booking to a future date.

We at Melbourne Animal Farm are not liable for any other costs that may be incurred due to any cancellations.

Entry

Please ensure that you dress for the weather conditions. You may need to wear wellington boots in the wetter months or during heavy periods of rain.

Ensure that you wear the correct clothing to protect you from all weather extremes.

Our walkways can get muddy during times of extreme wet periods so your safety is paramount, we may reserve the right to close sections of the farm during these times.

We want your experience to be enjoyable and for you to make the most out of our facilities both inside and out.

We are a non-smoking site and upon entry, you are agreeing to these terms.

You must adhere to Coronavirus guidelines such as practising social distancing, one-way systems in the walkways and other areas of the farm.

Our booking system has been designed to allow spaced out bookings and a restricted amount of people on the site. With this in mind, there may be some areas where queues may still take place, so social distancing will still be required.

Pricing

Our booking system offers our standard prices but we as Melbourne Animal Farm reserve the right to increase the entrance fee during peak periods.

Refreshments

No food in the play area.

No food to be taken around the farm.

Picnics are permitted in designated areas.

Hygiene

Hands must be washed prior to entering the play centre and accessing the tea room.

Hands must be sanitised before and after handling the animals to prevent the spread of disease.

Please ensure that children are supervised at all times around the animal areas.

Please ensure that children refrain from putting fingers into their mouths particularly after handling animals.

Disabled Access

Although we offer access to all, we are a farm which means that our pedestrian walkways are of a grass base which may make access difficult at times, particularly in the winter months.

The areas around the barns are made up of a loose stone material which will assist with the wetter conditions.

Our WC facilities have been constructed to enable accessibility.

We will do our utmost to assist where possible.

Dogs

Dogs are not permitted on the animal farm site, only in the allocated area (near the car park).

In the interest of animal safety, all dogs must be kept on a lead.

All dog waste must be collected in the correct waste bag and taken off-site. Dog faeces must not be placed in the general waste bins.

Fire Safety

All our buildings are equipped with fire-fighting equipment and our staff are trained in fire safety.

Please take note of our fire assembly point, should an emergency evacuation be required, which is clearly marked.

First Aid

Our First Aid box is situated in the main Barn which is clearly marked.

In the event of any member of the public requiring any assistance, please contact a member of staff who will alert the First Aider.

If a de-fib is required although we do not have one onsite, there is access to one in the neighbouring town of Melbourne.

Health and Safety

Whilst on-site your safety is paramount and we ensure that all safety requirements are to the highest standard.

As we are an animal farm, we acknowledge that animals can cause damage to fencing, if there is anything of concern please don’t hesitate to contact a member of the team.

In the unlikely event that you should have an accident during your visit, our accident book is situated in the main barn, which clearly marked.

The use of threatening behaviour both verbally or physically is not tolerated on any level and should this occur you will be asked to leave the site.

Liability

Melbourne Animal Farm does not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage to the property of the individual visiting the site, including but not limited to, personal belongings, cash, jewellery and motor vehicles.

All vehicles are parked at the owner`s risk and should be parked with no valuables visible.
